Give a dog a home!

If you saw the wonderful dogs featured in the Daily Mail recently and you are interested in giving one of them a home, here are all the details you need, including details of the dogs. Please read the first section first, to avoid any unnecessary disappointment.

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST!

In order to rehome a Battersea Dog, you must come to the Home - we cannot rehome dogs over the telephone or via the web. You can find all the details on how to rehome a Battersea dog in our rehoming procedures. You should also refer to our rehoming disclaimer.

Thanks to the Daily Mail, we should be able to find happy homes for all the Battersea dogs featured in the newspaper. It is not very likely that any of the dogs will get a home before Christmas, so please don't rush to get here to see them and rehome them. Don't worry about them over Christmas, either - we'll make sure they are well cared for over the festive season.

Christmas is not a good time to be introducing a new rescue dog into your home - think about all the excitement and stress you are feeling, then imagine how a new dog would feel! A much better idea is to wait until the New Year before coming down to Battersea to rehome a dog - wait until your home has settled down and you can give the potential new dog the attention he needs and deserves.

If you can't give a dog a home, but would like to make a donation to ensure this is a happy Christmas for all our residents, please make your donation online - why not Lend a Paw today!

Thanks to the Daily Mail for giving us these beautiful pictures of our recent media stars!

Zebbe and Nikki

Zebbe and Nikki are two collie-crosses aged 11 and ten. They would need to go home together, as they are brothers who grew up together. Nikki is outgoing and loves playing with squeaky toys, but has bad arthritis. Zebbe's a playful old chap and both are well mannered and well trained.

Herbie

Herbie is a nine-to-ten year old mongrel who is very set in his ways. All he needs is a warm fireplace to settle down in front of, but not with any children around as he's too old for all that!

Coco

Coco is a two year old lurcher with a calm nature, but he does have a wild side to him. He loves being cuddled and groomed and being around people. He needs set rules and regulations in his life. He also needs to be introduced to people and new environments slowly, so he needs patient new owners!

Winter

Winter is a four year old mongrel who ideally needs to go home with a family. She's great at fetching things so should be very useful around the house!

Bruno

Bruno is a five-to-seven year old mongrel, a playful excited young chap. He loves toys, is well trained and even shakes hands!

Zoe

Zoe is another one year old mongrel, but she's rather a shy girl who needs to build up her trust in people. It'll take her time to get relaxed into a new family, but once she is she'll be very affectionate.

Honey

Honey is a very boisterous eight year old mongrel. She's got loads of energy so would thrive in a rural environment with lots of space.

Iris

Iris is a two year old Jack Russell terrier cross. She loves cuddles, but would do best in an environment without too many other dogs around.

Charlie

Charlie is an 18 month old Lurcher with a big character. He needs lots of patience and exercise, as he's very energetic.

Buster

Buster is an eight-month-old mongrel who needs lots of training - he likes to have his say and is very vocal. He's fine with other dogs but not too good with children.
