Choosing a Pet Our Procedures Dogs of the Week Our Dogs Our Cats Happy Endings Responsible Ownership

Allow plenty of time for your visit - up to half a day. And come along during the week if possible: weekends are very busy.

Our Procedures

Come along to Battersea or one of our country centres. In order to rehome a dog or cat from us you will be interviewed by one of our experienced Rehomers, who will help you choose the dog or cat that best suits you and your situation. We will usually visit your home prior to you taking a dog and may visit your home prior to taking a cat - this will be arranged at point of interview. The home visit will take place within 7 to 10 working days of your interview.

The London site is open Monday to Friday from 1.00pm to 4.00pm for interviews and rehoming and from 10.30am to 4.00pm on Saturday and Sunday. Please note appointments are not needed for these times - it is on a first come, first served basis.

Alternatively, we offer an appointment service Monday to Friday at times of either 9.00am or 10.30am. This is for anyone who cannot make the daily opening times of 1.00-4.00pm. To book a rehoming appointment, please call 0207 627 9234.

For general enquiries, please call 0207 622 3626.

Our rehoming process is individual to each and every applicant so please allow plenty of time. Our busiest times tend to be weekends and school holidays.

Please note that you have to be 18 years old or over to rehome a Battersea dog or cat.

Dogs only:
We rehome dogs all over the country provided that you're able to come to one of our centres for an interview. If you live far away we cannot do a home visit and therefore need a letter of recommendation from your local vet or a local shelter could carry out a home visit prior to you coming here.

kent kennelsWe have dogs of all ages, sizes and shapes, all with different personalities and temperaments so one might be able to be left alone for three to four hours, another one not at all. One might need a country home and another can go to a flat in the city - each situation (dog and people wise) is looked at individually at point of interview.

As dogs and cats come and go every day, it is not possible to know which dogs or cats we have ready for rehoming prior to your visit.

At present, we do not have parking facilities at Battersea, however we do at our two other centres.

Please bring with you:
