Tara is a 3 to 5 year old female Terrier who came into Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in June 2007 as a stray. Look elsewhere if you are looking for a cute, docile lap dog as Tara is not to be judged purely on her looks! Underneath her placid and dignified manners, Tara hides some real feisty Terrier attitudes.  Resourceful and a crafty little lady, Tara can be interactive with people she knows, but likes things done on her terms and will always have an independent side on her.

 Tara is looking for:

• Owners who have owned confident, slightly aloof bitches before, enjoy their personality and are happy to give them their space without letting them rule the house


• Owners who have owned Terriers before and have a clear understanding of how to maintain them within their home environment.


•  Experience with dogs that have shown-status related issues around resources is essential


• Adult only household preferably although older teenagers may be considered. No children or visiting children as Tara is uncomfortable with handling


• Tara doesn't enjoy the company of dogs, therefore, she wouldn't be suitable to live with another dog


• Access to a private garden is essesntial in order to work on her recall and for time outs and stimulation.


•  Tara is suitable to live in most environments, provided the necessary facilities are available

Tara is a little dog with plenty of character. She has a good idea of what she wants in life, and will try to make people obey her rules. Confident owners with a no nonsense attitude will take great pleasure in having her around.
