Sophie is a 2-3 year old Miniature Poodle who was brought  into Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in April 2006 by her previous owners as they could not deal with her. Sophie should definately not be judged on her cute, cuddly exterior! A bit of a manipulator, Sophie learnt how to get things done her own way and will definately push the boundries if owners succumb to her every demand .Sophie was referred to the Behaviour Unit in order for us to investigate her history in her previous home and her reaction towards rapid movement.   Sophie is looking for:

• Owners who have previously owned high-maintenence dogs with a strong, manipulative personality before


• Sophie is not a docile lap-dog, but has the characteristics and traits of a fiesty Terrier and potential owners will need to bear this in mind when considering her as a possible pet 


• Unfortunately, Sophie cannot live with another dog or with cats


• Owners who are patient and are willing to listen to advise and follow an ongoing training programme


• Ideally, owners will lead an active lifestyle with lots of spare time and be able to put down firm-yet-fair ground rules from day one and consistently stick to them


• A semi-rural or rural environment as she needs to live in a low populated area


• Unfortunately Sophie cannot live in a flat but will need to be rehomed into a spacious house as she can be very vocal and thus neighbours will need to be taken into account


• Sophie will need to be rehomed into an adult-only household without any children or visiting children

Sophie has a very high opinion of herself and can be a right little madam if allowed to be.Sophie is at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home London. To receive advice and guidance regarding her training from the Behaviour Unit staff that have worked with her, potential owners should be prepared to come into the Dogs Home for a minimum of two visits.
