Spud was found wandering the streets in January, sadly she is still looking for a new home, she is not your average pet and will need patient and understanding new owners. Spud is a real high energy young dog and has got very frustrated in the kennel environment, away from the kennels Spud is a happier and more interactive dog but she may take time to settle and bond with her new owners.

Spud is looking for experienced rescue dog owners, ideally new owners should have owned similar high maintenance types before like Border Collies, Spaniels or feisty Terriers. Due to her high energy levels Spud will make an ideal addition to people who enjoy walking or hiking, if not kept mentally or physically stimulated Spud will get bored and frustrated leading to a potentially naughty dog.

Spud lacks focus in this environment but is intelligent, she does require all basic training from scratch and this may include housetraining. Once she has settled and has had some training she would make an ideal dog to participate in doggy activities like agility or flyball. Spud does enjoy chasing, especially other dogs so owners will need to dedicate time to recall training initially as she will need good control off lead in public.

Unfortunately Spud cannot live with other dogs or children, she needs consistency and  time devoted to her from day one. Spud has so much potential and will be a rewarding challenge in experienced hands. If you feel Spud could be the dog for you then please contact the rehoming team at Old Windsor on 01784 494443 or come in to one of our centres for a registration interview.
