Sia originally came in to Battersea in June 2007 as a stray, she was rehomed but returned as she was too noisy and neighbours were complaining. Sia was vocal during her last stay with us and has been the same in her previous home so new owners must be prepared for this side of her. Sia will need to live in a detached property in a semi-rural or rural location, she cannot live in a built up location.

Sia is very cute looking but already has some behaviour problems and will need experienced rescue dog owners who will not fall for the cute tactics and be firm, fair and consistent from day one, she is not suitable for 1st time owners or the less active home. Understanding, patience and dedication is needed but you will be well rewarded as Sia has so much potential, she will make an active, fun and affectionate addition.

Sia is a Dachshund cross Jack Russell, both these breeds were originally bred to scent, chase and hunt small animals like rabbits or badgers, Sia appears to have strong hunting instincts so when off lead she often disappears so new owners will need to keep her on lead initially and dedicate time to recall training. Sia has plenty of energy so will need off lead exercise and mental stimulation to keep her happy, she would not be content with a few on lead walks around the block.

Sia is social with other dogs but can be vocal on lead, she could possibly live with another active older adult who has no behaviour problems and will be a good role model. Unfortunately she cannot live with cats or children, an adult household is preferred with no young children involved. In her previous home Sia was housetrained and traveled ok in a car, she does know a few commands and is trainable.

Sia is a true rescue dog that will require work and time but in the right home she will be a joy to have around. If you feel you can offer Sia the home she needs please contact the rehoming team at Old Windsor on 01784 494443 or apply online.
