Puppy Bob

Although Bob is a typical puppy in the sense of being investigative, outgoing and cheeky, he is not a typical puppy in that he has some veterinary issues that may affect him in the future - for instance there are concerns over his vision. His new owners will need to speak to one of the Battersea Vets about the implications these issues may have on his future.

Bob has been at Battersea since he was roughly six weeks of age when he was found dumped on someone's doorstep with a cuddly tigger toy. Bob has been fostered whilst at Battersea to help with his socialising. He interacts well with other dogs although these relationships will need to be carefully monitored as he grows. Bob could live with an older well behaved dog who is likely to be a good influence on his behaviour.

He is a confident puppy who reacts well in new situations. He is almost paper trained but his new owners will need to continue training in this area and consequently a garden is essential in his new home. He loves to chew on rawhides and toys as most puppies do! He absolutely adores his food - in fact he's rather greedy when it comes to eating and so would benefit from learning a few manners in this area.

Bob needs experienced owners who will be consistent in their ground rules - his training essentially needs to start from scratch. Bob CANNOT live with young children - he needs children who will be able to understand his medical problems and how they may affect his behaviour, as well as though who can help with training. At this stage Bob does also like to mouthe and nip quite a lot - this does hurt! Bob also needs owners who are home with him most of the day at this stage due to the amount of training and socialising needed.
