Toby was brought to Battersea as his owner was ill and could no longer offer him the care he needed. Toby is a nervous and under-socialised dog who is finding kennel life very stressful and confusing, he has taken time to settle and trust people.

Experienced owners are needed  used to rescue dogs or nervous dogs, Toby needs the right handling to prevent his nervous behaviours becoming a problem. He will not make a suitable pet for 1st time dog owners or people looking for a lapdog companion.

Due to his nervous nature Toby is looking for an all adult household with no young children to be involved. Toby is social with other dogs and would benefit from living with a confident adult role model, no dogs with a nervous nature or behaviour problems.

In his previous home Toby lived with cats and could possibly live with cats again, will need testing on site. Unfortunately Toby has had no training, this includes housetraining so new owners will need to dedicate time to this and the social work required.

Sadly we are not seeing Toby's true loving nature in this environment, he has shut down and is finding it hard to build a bond with staff, any new owners must be prepared for the same behaviour until he has settled in a home environment.

Toby is a true rescue dog that will be a rewarding challenge, he needs owners around the majority of the time as he needs plenty of dedication to help him grow and blossom, understanding and patience is needed as he will not be interactive initially.

If you feel you can offer this nervous dog the home he needs please contact the rehoming team at Old Windsor on 01784 494443, apply online or email us on [email protected]
