Lola is an nine month old Rottweiler cross that was given to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home as her owner had taken a new job and couldn't care for her anymore. Lola has spent some time with the behaviourists at Battersea because of her over confidence around other dogs and people. Lola has a unique and special personality and has great potential. She is currently being fostered by a member of staff as she needed consistency in her training at such a important age Lola is certainly a character and will be very rewarding for the right owners. Lola is looking for:

Confident owners, that have owned strong willed extrovert females before. The right attitude will be essential when it comes to working with Lola

No children due to her size and nature

A house is essential, with space for an area where Lola can spend time alone.

Very short leaving hours initially. Neighbours must be considered as Lola does howl when left, although she does settle when she feels comfortable in her new surroundings.

Semi rural to rural environment as she doesn't like the hustle and bustle of a city

Exercise areas need to have a low dog population as owners will need a level of control over Lola's dog interaction.

         She is presently house trained.

She travels well in the car

Could live with a confident cat that won't take any of her nonsense.

Lola is very affectionate, and loves being around people, she likes to flutter her eyelashes and use her doleful brown eyes to get what she wants. She picks up training very quickly and is eager to please and learn, she can do a brilliant bow, role over and high-five! Lola has even been used as a model in the Summer issue of Paws (see picture below), however she does have the odd teenage tantrums to try and get her own way, and these need to be dealt with in the right manner otherwise you can expect a real battle of wills.

Lola is at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, London so if  you fancy having a clever young canine, in your life please call 020 7627 7884 or email [email protected] and quote ref 2006/06652.

Lola will need some further training in her new home. To receive advice and guidance regarding this training from the Behaviour Unit staff that have worked with her, potential owners should be prepared to come into Battersea Dogs & Cats Home for a minimum of two visits
