Lily is a deaf 1-2 year old Jack Russell Terrier, full of beans and always looking for some way to get into mischief! Although she is deaf, she is an outgoing, active, clever little dog who will need to be kept occupied by her new owners. Lily craves tennis balls and her new owners will need to work on ways to utilize this passion constructively. The Behaviour Unit have spent some time with her on account of her deafness and because she can be quite attention seeking. She has been taught hand signals whilst here in the home and her training will need to continue once she is rehomed.
Lily needs:
- Owners need to have had a deaf dog previously, so that they know what they are taking on. Ideally they also need to have experience of owning active terriers.
- Lily must live with another sociable, non-problematic dog.
- A home in a quiet semi rural or rural location, so she does not have too much traffic around her or distractions.
- A house with a garden. Lily can be very vocal at times, so neighbours need to be considered. She will not be suitable to live in a flat.
- Lily requires an all-adult household, without any children, as she needs consistency in her training.
Lily is at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in London.
