Jakie is a 1-2 year old mongrel who came into Battersea in February 2004. Jakie is a sweet natured youngster but at times also rather an opportunist. He hasn't had any previous training so doesn't have much self control at the moment! He has quite a short attention span and isn't the brightest spark so training can be a slow process but with patience he gets there in the end! Jakie likes to jump up and can be a mouthy which can be worked through with training but does mean he cannot be rehomed with children. Ideally potential owners would have experience with Collie types but more importantly they should be enthusiastic about training and have the time to put in the work with him. To start with, Jakie won't be able to be left alone but this can be built up over time. He is a sociable young lad who needs some guidance in life and will really progress once he is away from kennels. He also loves to be around people and is sociable with other dogs but he should be the only dog in the household as another dog will make it even more difficult for his owner to get his focus. He will need to have his own garden and live in a semi rural or rural area with access to good exercise facilities. Jakie is only a youngster which, combined with a love of food and interacting with people will make him a great dog to train.
