Jake is a 6 to 12 month old, Stafforshire Bull Terrier cross who came to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in February 2007.
He is a young dog who underneath his puppy behaviours is a strong willed, determined young man who will take advantage of situations given half a chance. Bubbly and intelligent and with an inquisitive nature, Jake will need to be both mentally and physically stimulated.
Jake is looking for:
- Owners who have had bolshy, over the top male bull breeds before
- Owners who are willing to follow an ongoing training programm
- A semi-rural or rural environment to gently socialise him. The home must also have a fairly large, enclosed garden with high walls as Jake has shown to be reactive to people and other dogs at a distance. A nearby park or open area nearby would also benefit him as this would be an ideal area where focus training could be continued
- An adult household without any children although older, experienced teenagers will be considered A home with no other dogs due to his over bearing, rough play but he would benefit from being socialised with a group of doggie who are fairly confident
Jake will need some further training in his new home. To receive advice and guidance regarding this training from the Behaviour Unit staff that have worked with him, potential owners should be prepared to come into the Dogs Home for a minimum of two visits.
Jake is at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London. Please call the Behaviour Unit on 020 7627 7884 if you are interested in Jake or email us on [email protected] and quote ref 2007/00776
