Harry is a male tan Lurcher who is between one and two years old, he arrived at Battersea in September 2004. Harry was referred to our rehabilitation department, due to having lead frustration and chase with other dogs. If he is restrained on lead or behind a barrier such as a fence with other dogs around, he can get very wound up and frustrated. He will bark and throw himself around on the end of the lead which as he is a large dog, can make him difficult to control. Lead frustration can be a difficult problem to manage but Harry has responded extremely well to training here at Battersea and it will be essential that his new owners continue with this. Off lead Harry is very sociable with other dogs. He can be very boisterous and a little lacking in manners but Harry is a fantastic dog with bags of energy and a great love of life! Harry is looking for;
- Owners who have experience with owning dogs and are enthusiastic about training
- A secure house and secure garden for training
- A semi-rural or rural environment An adult household without any children as he can be rather boisterous
- Harry may be able to live with a mature female dog he would prefer to live in a low dog populated area instead having a few suitable doggie friends he can meet and socialise with
