Gilligan

Gorgeous Gilligan is a great character, who needs his own space but then again enjoys a fuss and sitting on your lap.
This lovely older boy is still very active, knows a whole range of commands [providing there's a treat at the end of it!] and loves playing with tennis balls, rubber rings and squeakies.
Gilligan came into Battersea as a stray with a female mate that he had to be seperated from as he kept 'defending' her against other dogs. This made him very stressed in kennels, so Gilligan is now being fostered and his foster mum reports that he is:
* Housetrained
* Playful
* Walks nicely on the lead
* Settled down quickly
However as Gilligan has probably lived with his mate all his life he is defensive towards other dogs and will need to be the only dog in his new home. He will also need to live in the suburbs or the country, as he is still an active lad and loves his walks but needs somewhere he will not meet too many other dogs. He can live in a flat or a house but will require a garden to potter about in.
This golden oldie needs sensible owners with some experience of older dogs, ideally rescue dogs, who can deal with his grumpiness towards other dogs. Gilligan also needs more than one owner but this affectionate chap will be ok to live with older teenagers who will respect his need for space and time.
