Who is Eddie?

Eddie is a male seven week old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross that was born here at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. He is predominantly brindle in colour. Eddie will be micro chipped before leaving the Home.
.

Why did Eddie come into the Home?

As stated above, Eddie's mother came into the Home heavily pregnant and Eddie (and his brothers and sisters!) were born a short time later.

What is Eddie like?

A confident active pup with a strong character, Eddie is definitely one to test the boundaries and will need owners to treat him more like an older testier dog rather than a cute innocent little pup. Very people motivated; Eddie will provide lots of funny moments!

Why has Eddie been seen by the Behaviour Unit?

Eddie can be very mouthy with people, and it does take him a while to calm down. He has also shown some issues around food of higher value, and his new owners will need to follow advices from the Behaviour Unit to help him grow up into a well-balanced, mature dog.

What kind of home is Eddie looking for?

Eddie is looking for owners that live in a house in a semi to rural environment, where he will have plenty of outlets for his energy, and won't meet too many dogs, as he can be quite pushy with them.  This house will need a securely enclosed garden, as this will provide new owners with a controlled space in which to continue any training that Eddie is currently receiving. Due to Eddie's tendency to occasionally throw tantrums over handling and his stimulation with movement (he does rag on trousers) he will need to be rehomed into an adult-only household.

What kind of owners is Eddie looking for?

Eddie is looking for active and confident owners, who will provide him with the guidance he needs, and will enjoy interacting with him. A good sense of humour and a laid back attitude will be huge bonuses in dealing with this little man.

I Think I would fit that criteria, what should I do next?

Contact a member of the Behaviour team on 0207 627 7884, or email [email protected] and quote the reference 08/02302.
Pippa will need some further training in his/her new home. To receive advice and guidance regarding this training from the Behaviour Unit staff that have worked with
her, potential owners should be prepared to come into the Dogs Home for a minimum of two visits.
