Dominic

Nice lad prone to a few mad moments, Dominic tends to act a lot older than he actually is.  Confident around other dogs, and sometimes possessive over toys, Dominic was seen by the Behaviour Unit at Battersea and has responded well to training.  Would really suit owners who can channel his enthusiasm into something constructive.  Dominic came into Battersea Dogs and Cats Home as a stray, and despite his great charm with people, no one stepped forward to claim him back. He has had a previous operation on his leg but this doesn't impede his activity or enthusiasm.

Dominic is looking for:

• 
  
  Experienced owners who have had active dogs before.  Ideally, owners with an interest in agility dog, obedience training etc as Dominic will need both mental and physical stimulation


• 
  
  An adult household with no young children due to potential possession and handling issues, although teenagers will be considered depending on experience


• 
  
  A maximum of four people to maintain consistency


• 
  
  Owners who are prepared to build up the hours he can be left alone gradually


• 
  
  A home with a garden for training and burn-offs  


• 
  
  Dominic can live in a flat but there must be available space to put up baby gates


• 
  
  Could live with another dog but must be a good match and Dominic must not be able to bully other dog to get what he wants. 


• 
  
  Owners will need to be prepared to work on training separate to other dog


• 
  
  Has not yet been cat tested

Dominic will need some further training in his new home. To receive advice and guidance regarding this training from the Behaviour Unit staff that have worked with him, potential owners should be prepared to come into the Dogs Home for a minimum of two visits.
