Barney is a 1 to 2 year old, male mongrel, who came to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in November 2006 as a stray.
Lively and boisterous, Barney is a young dog going through the adolescent stage of questioning everything and pushing every boundary. 
He is a smart dog with good motivations for food and toys, which owners can utilise to their advantage.  Larger than life Barney will be really rewarding for owners prepared to work on his training.

Barney is looking for:

•  Owners who have experience with attention demanding dogs


•  A semi-rural or rural house with a garden for training and burn offs


• A multi carer, adult household, without any children due to his over boisterous nature and handling issues


• A home with no other dogs as Barney can be pushy, over the top and a general pest 


• Barney would however benefit from being socialised with some doggy friends but must not be allowed to bully them and focus around other dogs must be worked on by owners


• Has not yet been tested with cats

Barney will need some further training in his new home. To receive advice and guidance regarding her training from the Behaviour Unit staff that have worked with him, potential owners should be prepared to come into the Dogs Home for a minimum of two visits.
