Johnny Kidd spent his untamed youth as a ship's cat, criss-crossing the high seas from Fiji to Falmouth, a mighty rat-catcher and a welcome companion in the crow's nest during the sailors' lonely spells on lookout duty. However, after an unfortunate encounter with a seagull, Johnny lost an eye and was given the old heave-ho by his erstwhile shipmates when the rodent population started to make inroads into the rations.
Johnny thought he might try his luck in the capital, and happily for him, a kind person found him wandering lost and forlorn and brought him into Battersea, where he is thrilled to find himself warm, well fed and pampered by his fans.
This dashing fellow is (clearly!) a laid-back and affectionate cat, who loves to be with people. He can live with kids aged eight and above and must have access to a garden once he has settled into his new quarters.
If you have a spare hammock for our Johnny, please come in to Battersea to register or leave a message for Ros on 020 7627 9234 or email: [email protected].
Please note that there are many cats in the Home and in our satellite sites of all ages, shapes, sizes and personalities and we are only able to feature a small selection on the web.
