Gentle Joop may stare at you intensely but it is only because he wears his heart on his sleeve and is begging to be loved. This lovely lad came into Battersea as a stray last August and so far has been overlooked despite being very eager to please, playing for hours all on his own with a tennis ball. However as Joop was beginning to show signs of giving up hope in kennels, he is currently in a foster home, where his foster mum says 'he has come on in leaps and bounds!' His foster dad adds that gentle Joop is: * Housetrained * Settled quickly * Very friendly with People * Very Good with other Dogs * Sleeps on his own * No problem to leave alone * Good in the car In fact in his foster home, Joop has proved to be a good boy, who responds to firm ground rules. He is also getting more cuddly and playful by the day, except he is no longer very interested in tennis balls as he finds chasing sticks much more fun! Joop can get mouthy when over-excited but his foster dad says a firm no stops him. Joop can live anywhere except the inner city or heavily Staffie populated areas. He can live in a flat or a house but will need a garden. He also needs more than one owner -- active experienced people who are keen on exercise and training but are also patient. As Jolly Joop needs a calm environment and consistent training he isn't to live with children but will be okay with visiting children of 10 plus. If you can give this gentle boy, who has been passed over so many times, the permanent home he so deserves please contact the rehoming line number and leave a message on 020 7627 9234 or come down and register with us but remember as Joop is a foster dog we will have to make arrangements to bring him into Battersea.
